The Printers (Mysore) adopts Content-X
editorial system from ppi Media

Marking the first Content-X in a newspaper house in India, The Printers (Mysore) has adopted the editorial system from ppi Media and Digital Collections. Headquartered in Bengaluru, The Printers (Mysore) publishes one of the country’s widely circulated English daily Deccan Herald with 286,540 copies. The company also publishes other popular regional dailies including Prajavani, which is considerably one of the oldest newspapers in Kannada with daily circulation of 527,300 copies printed in seven locations. Journalists and editors at both Deccan Herald and Prajavani will use Content-X workflows to produce their daily editions.

KN Tilak Kumar, joint managing director, The Printers (Mysore), said they would look forward to enhancing their cooperation with ppi Media. “We are confident that this promising Content-X editorial system will enable us to maintain focus on our journalistic core competencies,” he remarked. In pursuit of a suitable new editorial system for their editorial operations, The Printers (Mysore) has opted Content-X, which has been used in leading media companies in the US, Germany, Thailand, among other countries. Media companies actively engaged in digital transformation are opting for Content-X as this editorial system stores content in a media-neutral format so that it can be played out in digital and print, covering the full range of publishing channels. What it instilled The Printers (Mysore) to adopt the editorial system is the Content-X’s distinct multi-channel functionality that supports production in English as well as Indian languages, including Kannada.

Dr Hauke Berndt, COO, ppi Media lauded their cooperation with The Printers (Mysore) saying, “I am particularly pleased that the leading Indian newspaper will publish their dailies and magazines with Content-X. In addition to newspapers, The Printers (Mysore) publishes two magazines in Kannada, namely Sudha, a weekly on lifestyle, and Mayura, a monthly literary review.
